Education is the key to achieving success, especially for disadvantaged groups. In 2009, The Martinez Foundation will provide 25 young men and women of color with the opportunity to pursue their dreams through education. Your generosity makes these educational opportunities possible.

Research has shown that teachers of diverse backgrounds can have a positive effect on the success of students of color. By encouraging students of color to pursue careers in education and preparing them for the challenges they will face as teachers in disadvantaged communities, Washington's educators will soon better reflect the state's diverse student population.
